You need to have a lot of Vigor in order to deal high damage with a melee weapon. For high damage with a firearm you need to practice Shooting.About Defense: To take less damage when facing a firearm, you need good reflexes. If your opponent uses a melee weapon the all important attribute is Toughness. The same applies for your opponents.Now the practice: Have a go at tough Paddy. He is the local roughneck!
